Firm Leadership

As Managing Partner and President, Mark provides leadership for the firm’s strategy and overall operations. Additionally, he works with corporate and nonprofit retirement plans, endowments and foundations and private families. Mark was a founder of Fiduciary Investment Advisors, LLC, which combined with Fiducient Advisors in 2020.

Mark has served on and chaired multiple nonprofit boards and investment committees, including Northfield Mount Hermon, McLean, Hartford Healthcare and Ellsworth Foundation and serves as a corporator for both the Greater Worcester Community Foundation and the Horace Bushnell Memorial Hall. He has also served on the corporate pension committees as a fiduciary for both UBS Financial Services, Inc., and Novartis Corporation. Mark has been in the industry since 1990 and has received many industry recognitions for his contributions. He regularly speaks at industry conferences, has chaired the P&I inaugural Healthcare Summit and two P&I OCIO Conferences. He has been published numerous times in publications such as PLANSPONSOR Magazine and PIMCO’S DC Dialogue. Mark earned his MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth and a BS from the University of Vermont. He enjoys family time, biking, ice hockey and fishing.

Julie helps establish, implement and lead strategic operations plans. She works to enhance operational proficiencies and drive effective business initiatives to improve revenue and earnings growth. Prior to joining the firm in 2020, Julie was Partner and Managing Director of Wealth Management at RMB Capital Management, LLC. Previous to that, she was a Senior Managing Director and served on the Management Committee and Board of Directors at Mesirow Financial Holdings. Julie received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Northern Illinois University and earned her MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Julie serves on the La Rabida Board of Trustees and is a member of The Chicago Network. In her free time, you can find Julie spending time with family, trying new restaurants and traveling.

As Managing Partner and Director of Institutional Consulting, Tony maintains oversight for the firm’s institutional consultants. In addition, he services institutional and family clients, providing advice and counsel on all areas of portfolio oversight, including investment policy, asset allocation, manager research and selection, portfolio structure, performance monitoring and overall investment management. Tony is a member of the firm’s Research Forum and Discretionary Committee. His range of knowledge includes asset allocation/investment portfolio construction, capital markets analysis, and investment manager evaluation. Tony co-founded Fiduciary Investment Advisors, LLC in 2006, which combined with Fiducient Advisors in 2020.

Prior to co-founding the firm, he was a PRIME Consultant at UBS Financial Services Inc. Tony earned his MSF from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and his BS at Marist College. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the Hartford CFA Society. Additionally, he serves as a Trustee and Investment Committee Chair for the Springfield Museums. Tony enjoys family time, reading, running, cycling and golf.

Matt joined Fiducient Advisors in 2001. As Fiducient Advisors’ Chief Investment Officer, Matt leads the firm’s investment strategy and research efforts. He also advises a number of the firm’s nonprofit and corporate clients. Matt is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, Research Forum, Investment Committee, Discretionary Committee and Capital Markets Committee.

Matt has co-authored two books, including Nonprofit Asset Management (John Wiley & Sons), which was published in 2012 and The Practical Guide to Managing Nonprofit Assets (John Wiley & Sons), published in 2005. Matt is a CFA® charterholder and member of the CFA Society Chicago and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA®). Matt received a BA in Economics from Northwestern University, where he also played on the 1995 and 1996 Big Ten championship football teams. Matt now leads an easier lifestyle chasing after his two young children.

Matt joined Fiducient Advisors in 1998. Matt is a Managing Partner and Head of Endowments and Foundations. As Head of Endowments and Foundations, Matt challenges firm members to think about and embrace innovation and knowledge development. As a Senior Consultant, he advises institutional clients on a variety of topics, including asset allocation, investment manager relations and portfolio rebalances. Matt is a member of the Investment Committee, which sets all investment policies for the firm, establishes the framework for asset allocation and reviews and approves investment managers. Matt also leads the firm’s Endowment & Foundation Business Council and is a member of the firm’s Research Forum and Discretionary Committee. In 2005, he co-authored The Practical Guide to Managing Nonprofit Assets (John Wiley & Sons) and in 2012 co-authored Nonprofit Asset Management (John Wiley & Sons).

Before this, he was a Trust Officer in the Wealth Management Division at The Northern Trust Corporation. Matt obtained the title Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) from the Investments & Wealth Institute™ accreditation program at the Wharton School of Business and is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago. He received a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. In addition to spending a lot of time at pools watching his two children in competitive swim, Matt enjoys golf, tennis and hiking new trails.

Kiaina oversees the firm’s institutional and private wealth Client Service Teams across all offices. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Kiaina worked at Charles Schwab as a Client Service Specialist servicing client accounts and conducting investor education workshops. She graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration. Kiaina spends her free time volunteering with Year Up, reading and crafting.
